Poison Point a vu le jour sous la forme dʼun projet solo orchestré par Timothée Gainet en 2016. Synthés et boîtes à rythme frénétiques sont à lʼhonneur, survolé par une voix aux accents post-punk et mélancoliques. Le label parisienThird Coming Records a signé le premier album cette même année ainsi quʼun Ep lʼannée suivante, peu de temps avant que Poison Point devienne un duo, rejoint alors par Arnaud Derochefort.
Le groupe a déjà partagé lʼaffiche avec un certain nombre dʼartistes internationaux comme Qual (UK), Xeno & Oaklander (US), Die Selektion (GER), Inhalt (US), Pure Ground (US), Operant (GER), Rendez-Vous (FR), Adult (US)...
En 2018 le duo signe sur le label Allemand Aufnahme + Wiedergabe pour leur disque “Bestiensaule”, concentré dʼEBM et de coldwave flirtant avec la techno sur des morceaux taillés pour le live. Cʼest à nouveau sur un label Français, “Intervision”, quʼils choisissent de sortir en Juin 2019 deux nouveaux titres accompagnés de quatres remix signés Qual, Sydney Valette, Blind Delon et IV Horsemen. Confirmant leurs affinités avec lʼEBM et flirtant avec la techno tout en baignant dans des influences fortement Post-Punk.
Après un long moment en silence radio, Poison Point émerge à nouveau sous la forme dʼun projet solo avec un tout nouvel album fraichement sorti en septembre 2022 qui voit sa version vinyle récemment annoncée en pre-order par le label Young and Cold pour 2023.

Poison Point started as a solo project operated by Timothée Gainet, quickly joined by Arnaud Derochefort on keyboards and programming. It features screaming synths hammered by a frantic drum machine, topped by Tim's echoed vocal to rule over the dance floor fog.
The band shared the stage with bands such as Adult (US), Qual (UK), Drab Majesty (US), Xeno & Oaklander (US), Die Selektion (GER), Rendez-Vous (FR), Silent Servant (US), ...
They signed in November 2018 on the Berlin based label Aufnahme + Wiedergabe and released the record « Bestiensäule », an EBM banger with a coldwave mood fueled by a taste of techno.
Before taking a long break the duo released « Oblivion » and « Your Are The Clock », two new tracks on the Parisian label Intervision alongside four remixes from Qual, Sydney Valette, Blind Delon and IV Horsemen. Which confirmed their affinity with EBM and techno music still in a very melancholic mood so specific to their post-punk roots.
Poison Point came back in 2022 with a new album called Poisoned Gloves, a solely made up of founder Timothée Gainet.
« Poisoned Gloves » overhauls a lot of the bandʼs approach but keeps its frenetic and fraught identity intact, allowing for moments of feverish energy and somber reflection to intermingle until they become delirious and inseparable.
